Game Modes

Turf War

A sport based on the Great Turf War. 8 players are divided into 2 groups. These teams have different ink colors. Your team can win by coloring the map with your guns and splatting opponents, hindering them from victory.

Ranked

Ranked is actually 3 game modes in a trench coat: Splat Zones, Rainmaker, and Tower Control. Splat Zones are basically a tiny, harder Turf War. Your team has to ink the zone/s and keep it/them as your color for longer. Rainmaker and Tower Control work by taking them closer to the enemy base.

Hero Mode

You are Agent 3 of the New Squidbeak Splatoon. Your mission is to retrieve Zapfish and The Great Zapfish from DJ Octavio.

Splatfest: Sometimes, there is a Splatfest where you have to make a choice between two subjects represented by the idols Callie and Marie. Winning turf wars rack up more points for your side, and in turn puts you in the lead.

Meet the New Squidbeak Splatoon!

Agent 1

Callie is an energetic, bubbly squid who loves food to the point that it makes her cousin Marie sick. She is sometimes so worried about her, that she overthinks.

Agent 2

Marie is a laidback, more neutral kind of person who likes throwing shade at people with Callie. Sometimes she is so concerned for Callie, that she insults herself for not looking after her well enough.

Cap'n Cuttlefish

**Former leader of the Squidbeak Splatoon, and their grandpa who is slightly racist. He likes rapping and a food called Botamochi.**

In Octo Valley

An inkling falls down the sewer, meeting Capn' Cuttlefish. He calls them Agent 3 and recruits them into the New Squidbeak Splatoon to retrieve the Zapfish. Later in the game, Cuttlefish gets kidnapped by DJ Octavio, leaving the other 2 agents to help you. When they get to Octavio, the Squid Sisters (Agents 1 & 2) perform this song called the Calamari Inkantation to cheer on Agent 3. Meanwhile, the octarians who listened to the song realized the inklings aren't so bad after all, so they moved to the surface. Now that the Great Zapfish is back and Octavio is trapped in a giant snowglobe, all is well until the next game.

Callie has lost the Finalfest in Splatoon 1. Because of an unknown reason, she has gone missing sometime after that.
